On December 14, 2012 in Newtown, CT, a man got out of bed, shot his mother to death with one of her guns, stole three of her guns ("a .223 Bushmaster, a Glock, and a Sig Sauer") and ammunition with him to the Sandy HookElementary School ("Sandy Hook"), entered the school and shot to death six more adults, 20 children, and himself. Most of this had occurred before about 9:30 a.m., when someone notified the police of shootings at the school.
